2.8 million in funding to accelerate deployment of Carrefour de l'eau in Quebec City

Quebec City, mars, 16 2026 - The Carrefour de l'eau takes another decisive step forward with the announcement of nearly $3 million in major funding from the Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et de l'Énergie (MEIE) to accelerate the project's deployment.

This structuring support will enable us to take a major step towards the realization of this unique center of expertise, and position the Carrefour de l'eau as a world leader in innovation and sustainable water management.

A milestone in the evolution of Carrefour de l'eau

The raison d'être and relevance of Carrefour de l'eau were confirmed over the past year with the official launch of the project, the start-up of activities and the deployment of its technology showcase. This major commitment now enables us to build on the momentum, broaden the scope of activities and amplify the impact, while accelerating the development of technological solutions and the growth of innovative companies in the water sector. It will also help stimulate cutting-edge research, change paradigms and promote awareness and education on water-related issues.

About Carrefour de l'eau

The result of a promising partnership between the City of Quebec, the Port of Quebec, H2O Innovation, the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, 2 Degrés, Patriarche Architecture and Cteau, the Carrefour de l'eau brings together under one roof all the resources needed to develop new technologies, train researchers and create innovative companies in the water sector. The future complex will also house a water recycling plant capable of serving companies that consume large quantities of drinking water for industrial purposes, as well as an interpretation and awareness center open to the general public.
